Golf 'Fore' Edith Sanford

Organizing a golf benefit is a great way to get people together, have fun, and raise awareness and support for Edith Sanford’s breast cancer research!
Pick a date and contact a local golf course.
Set a fundraising goal. You can meet your goal by charging a price-per-golfer, or a set price per game at the golf course.
Create a TeamEdith page. Personalize a TeamEdith fundraising page with your own words, photos and videos. Tell everyone what drives your passion for the fight against breast cancer.
Get the word out. Share your TeamEdith page through social media and email. You’ll be surprised how willing people are to donate and/or attend your event when they see that their friends are passionate about something.
Share your passion for the cause. Find a way tell your guests about the cause and why you’re supporting Edith Sanford.
Collect donations. Collect cash, checks or have a computer or tablet available for people to make online gifts.
Tally donations. Please use our collection form to record and tally your fundraising. Mail the form and funds to us, and we’ll make sure every dollar goes to work finding the cures.
Say thank you! Everyone likes to hear those magic words, so don’t forget to thank your guests, donors and/or volunteers and tell them about the impact they made. Again, social media is a great tool to publicly show gratitude while also generating interest in Edith Sanford’s approach to breast cancer.
Negotiate. Golf is usually priced per 9-holes or 18-holes, but see if you can work out an agreement with the golf course to set specific hours of play. Don’t forget to include golf club rentals.
Have prizes donated. Add multiple ways to win prizes so that everyone has a chance (i.e., most hole-in-ones, least hole-in-ones, lowest and highest scores, most birdies, most bogeys, most eagles, etc.)
Remember, there’s no one right way to host an amazing fundraiser for Edith Sanford. Feel free to adapt these ideas to create an event that’s as unique as you are!
