SD State Pink Game Day
South Dakota State University's women's basketball team showed their support for Edith Sanford by wearing pink basketball jerseys Feb. 26 against Western Illinois University.
Fans filled the arena with pink, and the Jackrabbits raised more than $4,500 by live-auctioning the game-worn jerseys after the game.
SD State has been a strong supporter of Edith Sanford, and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with them in the future. Thank you!
NDSU Pink Game Day
The North Dakota State University women's basketball team went pink Feb. 14. The game was built around an awareness campaign for Edith Sanford.
The Bison tipped off against the University of Nebraska-Omaha, with the women's team wearing pink uniforms. Pink t-shirts were handed out to the fans, and PSAs were read during the game giving those in attendance more insight into breast cancer and Edith Sanford.

Augustana Pink Game Day
Augustana College men's and women's basketball teams went pink Feb. 13.
The Vikings matched up against the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State. Both the men's and women's uniforms sported a touch of pink, and jerseys were auctioned off after the game with all proceeds benefiting Edith Sanford. Many attendees to the game also showed their support by wearing pink, and the event raised more than $4,000!

Hooping for a Cure 2015
The Parker Pheasants squared off against Viborg-Hurley on Feb. 13 in the 2015 "Hooping for a Cure" fundraiser supporting Edith Sanford.
The game was used as a senior project for a student in Parker. She fundraised through raffles and obtaining donations from area businesses based on the number of points scored in the game. That, coupled with t-shirt sales, enabled her to raise more than $3,700 to put towards helping to find a cure!

MSU-Moorhead Pink Game Day
On Feb. 13, the Minnesota State University-Moorhead women's basketball team went pink in support of Edith Sanford.
They tipped off against the University of Minnesota-Duluth wearing pink uniforms to show support for finding a cure for breast cancer. Fans were also encouraged to wear pink, and a series of pink fundraisers were held during the week leading up to the game.

High School Classic Pink Games
On Feb. 10 and 13, high schools in Sioux Falls, S.D., all showed their support for Edith Sanford.
The athletic programs, student unions and student clubs from the four schools — Lincoln, Roosevelt, O'Gorman and Washington — sold pink t-shirts before and during the High School Classic Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament. The fundraiser collected more than $7,300!

5th Annual Carmen Heer "Think Pink" Party
Darlene Kersey organized the 5th Annual "Think Pink" Party on Feb. 8, 2015, in honor of her mother, Carmen Heer, a breast cancer survivor.
She brightened up the party with pink decorations, snacks and beverages. Gifts were given by attendees to honor or remember those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
USD Pink Game Day
On Jan. 28, the University of South Dakota women's basketball team played a pink game supporting Edith Sanford.
The team wore pink uniforms, and pink t-shirts and Thunder sticks were handed out to fans. The arena was electric with support for breast cancer awareness.

J & R Mechanical Pink Furnace
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, J & R Mechanical in Tea, S.D., hosted a raffle for a pink Coleman furnace. The winner received the pink Coleman furnace fully installed in their home. Ten second place winners received a free furnace clean and check from J & R Mechanical.
Augustana College Pink Game Day
On Oct. 25, Augustana Vikings went pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The women's soccer team matched up against Minot State at 11 a.m. The football team took the field at 1 p.m. against Minnesota State Mankato. The volleyball team faced off against Winona State at 5 p.m.
All the players sported pink flair. A raffle was held at the soccer and football games, and the "Dig Pink" campaign was part of the volleyball game.
USD Survivor Walk
On Oct. 25, prior to the USD vs. NDSU football game, USD hosted a Breast Cancer Survivor Walk. Survivors were honored at halftime, and all participants received a free ticket to the game. All proceeds from the event went to Edith Sanford.
Rancho Santa Fe Women's Golf Club
The Rancho Santa Fe Women's Golf Club hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Tournament on Oct. 16, 2014, at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club in California. A cocktail party and auction followed golf.
Windom Area Breast Health Walk
On Oct. 11, 2014, the Windom Area Breast Health Walk was held. It's organized by local breast cancer survivors to support the cause.
Edith Sanford Health Run and Walk
On Oct. 10, 2014, people supported Breast Cancer Awareness at the Edith Sanford Health Run and Walk in Bismarck, ND. An education forum and booths was available to all participants.

Run to Raise

Pink sporting clay pigeons and pink shirts were worn in honor of friends and family touched by breast cancer.

Maintenance Engineering Ltd. "Pink Day"
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Maintenance Engineering Ltd in Fargo, N.D., hosted their 4th Annual Pink Day in support of Edith Sanford. For a $5 donation, employees could wear jeans and were also encouraged to wear pink. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated!
Wilde Prairie Winery Fall Festival of Artists
Wilde Prairie Winery hosted the Fall Festival of Artists on Sept. 12 and 13, 2014. The event included an art show, artist meet and greet, art sales, silent auction and live music.
Edith Sanford was chosen as the charity of choice for Hy-Vee's Operation Helpful Smile program from July 23 to July 29, 2014.
Donation boxes were placed at the check stands of Sioux Falls Hy-Vee locations to collect contributions. Hy-Vee, with the help of program sponsors, matched customer contributions up to $1,000. This year, $1,246.87 was raised.
Pink Ribbon Golf Day
The Willsboro Women's Golf Association organized a Pink Ribbon Day at the Willsboro Golf Course in New York on July 8, 2014. The event was open to the public and participants were asked to make a free-will donation.
La Jolla Hat Club

10th Annual Amy's Race
On Saturday, June 28, 2014, the 10th Annual Amy’s Race took place in memory of Amy Erickson, who lost her life to breast cancer. The race included a 5K and 1-mile walk.

Aviano Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
The Aviano Community of Enlisted Spouses hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk in March 2014. The event took place in Aviano, Italy, with almost 300 participants.
Women's Basketball Pink Walk
The University of South Dakota women's basketball team hosted a Pink Walk on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014. Guests wore pink and were encourages to make a free-will donation at the basketball game.

In November 2013, the Feisty Fighters hosted their annual Sparkle and Shine wine tasting event to support the fight against breast cancer.
The event took place among the holiday-decorated trees at Landscape Garden Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. In addition to wine tasting, there was also appetizers and live music for guests to enjoy. A portion of proceeds went to benefit the Foundation.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Julep — a hand, nail and foot care brand created to celebrate the bond between girlfriends and the beauty of the human spirit — introduced the limited edition nail color, "Edith."
This stunning shade of pink was created to honor the legacy of Edith Sanford and all the women we're fighting for today. A portion of proceeds was donated to the Foundation to help advance our new, innovative approach to ending breast cancer.

2nd Annual Run to Raise

October Pink Coleman Furnace Raffle
For the month of October 2013, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, J & R Mechanical in Tea, S.D., hosted a raffle for a pink Coleman furnace.
The winner received the pink furnace, contributed by J & R Mechanical and Coleman Company, Inc., as well as the installation material and labor provided by J & R Mechanical. A portion of proceeds went to the Foundation.

In October 2013, D’ Fabiola, a salon in Sioux Falls, S.D., donated 100 percent of facial purchases to the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation through the salon’s Facials of Hope program.

Augustana Hosts Pink Volleyball Match
On October 12, 2013, the Augustana College women’s volleyball hosted a pink game against Concordia University of St. Paul, Minn.
The match was held at the Augustana Elmen Center located in Sioux Falls, S.D., and was played in honor of all those who are currently battling breast cancer and those that have fought breast cancer in the past. The team collected donations to support the Foundation.

2nd Annual Hunters Pointe Shooting Club Fundraiser for Breast Cancer
On Oct. 5, 2013, the Hunters Pointe Shooting Club, a world-class sporting clays facility outside of Humboldt, S.D., successfully hosted its 2nd Annual "Blasting for Boobs," a unique fundraiser in support of the Foundation.
This was the club’s second year of hosting this event in support of Edith Sanford’s groundbreaking breast cancer research. This year, teams of two and four had the opportunity to compete in sporting clay shooting. Pink sporting clay pigeons and team shirts were worn in honor of friends and family touched by breast cancer.

In September 2013, Wilde Prairie Winery of Brandon, S.D., hosted a Fall Festival of Artists, an art show and silent auction benefiting Edith Sanford.

Catwalk for a Cure
Edith Sanford, in collaboration with the Minnesota Lynx, held the 5th annual Catwalk for a Cure, a fashion runway show in honor of breast cancer awareness on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013 at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minn.
Minnesota Lynx players walked the runway wearing custom-designed apparel created by Edith Sanford’s corporate partner The Vanity Project. The catwalk also included free bowling, a silent auction and a Q&A with Lynx players and coaches.
Meet 'n Greet Wine Tasting at the Market on Phillips
The Market on Phillips in Sioux Falls, S.D. was pleased to host the South Dakota launch of a very special wine label, Humanitas.
On Aug. 26, 2013, guests had the opportunity to sample some delicious Humanitas wines and meet the founder and proprietor, Judd Wallenbrock, from Napa, Calif. At the event, Judd introduced his wines, shared his story about winemaking and the wine industry, and talked about the new alliance between Humanitas and Edith Sanford.
Minnesota Lynx Pink Out Game
Edith Sanford, in collaboration with the Minnesota Lynx and the Minnesota Lynx Foundation, came together to host a Pink Out basketball game on Aug. 24. 2013, in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Lynx team was decked out in pink jerseys to spotlight breast health awareness. The entire arena also transformed into a sea of pink, created by 6,000 fans wearing pink shirts, as they cheered the Lynx in their 84 to 77 win over the Indiana Fever.
Knickers FORE Knockers
In August 2013, the Feisty Fighters, a group of passionate men and women united in the fight against breast cancer, hosted their 5th Annual Knickers Fore Knockers golf tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D., to benefit the Foundation.

Wine Tasting and Pizza in Evergreen
On August 9, 2013, we had the privilege of being invited into the beautiful mountain home of 13-time PGA tour winner and 1982 Masters champion, Craig Stadler, and his wife, Jan, for an event in Evergreen, Colorado.
Guests were treated to custom-made pizzas cooked in an outside pizza oven by Craig himself! Jan is a breast cancer survivor, and we are grateful for her time and support as she currently serves on Edith Sanford’s National Thought Leaders Advisory Council.
Poolside in Cherry Hills
We are incredibly grateful to Arlene and Don Johnson for opening their lovely home for a poolside reception on August 8, 2013. Arlene is a breast cancer survivor and shared her story with us, as well as her belief in the importance of research.

Edith Sanford was thrilled to partner with CH Patisserie at the 2013 Aspen Food & Wine Classic event.
Our team joined CH Patisserie's own world champion pastry chef, Chris Hanmer, who was featured at this premier event alongside the world's most accomplished winemakers, celebrity chefs, and culinary luminaries. Chef Chris prepared one of his signature desserts while providing tastings for more than 5,000.

The Bra Project
Edith Sanford was a proud beneficiary of The Bra Project, hosted by Coquette Boutique of Denver, Colo. For twelve days in 2013, Coquette auctioned lovely works of “bra art” created by local breast cancer survivors.
DNA Day 2013
On April 25, and throughout the month of April, the Foundation celebrated DNA Day!
DNA Day commemorates the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA, as well as the first sequencing of the human genome. This year, we were especially pleased that Governor Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota signed an executive proclamation that not only honored DNA Day, but paid tribute to organizations like Edith Sanford that are unlocking the potential of genomics to improve health and end breast cancer.
Meet Edith, Sioux Falls
On April 16, 2013, Edith Sanford was privileged to offer the community in Sioux Falls, S.D., an exclusive look into its cutting-edge genomics research program and insight into the latest developments in the quest to find the cures.
Guests also had the opportunity to tour Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Research facilities, as well as the state-of-the-art biobank, a crucial repository of blood and tissue samples from volunteers that gives scientists ready access to genetic material needed for research.
Taste of Hope

Timberwolves Shoot to Support Edith Sanford
For the 2012-2013 season, the Minnesota Timberwolves donated $10 to the Foundation for every assist by the team's star point guard, Ricky Rubio, and $5 for every field goal scored by star forward Kevin Love!
Hunters Pointe Raises Funds for Edith Sanford
Hunters Pointe Shooting Club, a world-class sporting clays facility near Humboldt, S.D., organized and hosted a successful 1st Annual Fundraiser for Breast Cancer in 2012.
It was a day of pink targets and pink t-shirts in honor of friends recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The event raised funds that were donated to Edith Sanford to advance our research to find the cure, and the organizers are energized for the 2nd annual event.

Roller Dollz Derby
The Roller Dollz of Sioux Falls, S.D., took on a men’s team from North Dakota during Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2012. Funds raised during the lively event were donated to support the Foundation.
A skater owned and operated nonprofit organization and a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the Roller Dollz work to empower women and enrich their community through competitive sport.
Hy-Vee Cookie Promotion
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2012, a Hy-Vee grocery store in Sioux Falls, S.D., helped raise funds to benefit Edith Sanford. For each cookie sold during the promotion, Hy-Vee donated 5 cents to the Foundation.
Arena and CAL Pink Out
It was a sea of pink at the University of California's CAL pool as the men’s swim team competed against the University of the Pacific in a special “Pink Out” swim meet, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2012 and in support of Edith Sanford.
During the meet, Arena presented a check to the Foundation. Leading swimwear brand and corporate partner Arena was on deck with pink swim caps.
Minnesota Lynx Score a Win Against Breast Cancer
The Minnesota Lynx wore commemorative breast health awareness uniforms during the team’s August 19, 2012 match-up with the Tulsa Shock in honor of the team’s Breast Health Awareness Week, presented by Edith Sanford.
After the game, the team auctioned off their game-worn jerseys on the Target Center floor in support of breast cancer research, with proceeds benefiting the Lynx Foundation, which supports the Foundation.
Suit Up to Stop Breast Cancer ™
The Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation launched the first Suit Up to Stop Breast Cancer event in the summer of 2012.
Gary Hall, Jr., 10-time Olympic medalist and recent inductee into the Olympic Hall of Fame, was the event’s spokesperson. Groups and individual participants created their own goals and asked sponsors to pledge funds.
Arena Swim Challenge
In May 2012, our partner Arena North America initiated the Arena Swim Challenge in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Edith Sanford.
In honor of the first world record that was broken in 2012, in any individual race, Arena pledged a generous donation to the Foundation. The world record was broken on July 28, 2012, in the women’s 400 meter individual medley.
